A second attempt to scan a sheet took me back to the red message.Īfter a couple of hours I unplugged and plugged again: first scan OK nothing on subsequents attempts, sometimes the scanner is there (drop-drown list) some others it is not.
Back to Simple Scan and press "Scan": a new scan began. I one of them I unplugged the USB cable and plugged it again. After some seconds this time the message was yellow: Couldn't find any scanner so I went back to the Settings and. I re-selected it and pressed "Scan" again. Out of curiosity I went to Simple Scan > Document > Settings and the drop-down list showed "Epson Epson Scanner1". This time the round pattern began to turn without any mechanical noise from the scanner and after a few seconds I got a red warning message: "unable to begin scan" (or similar my OS speaks spanish). I then put a second sheet (without touching anything it's a simple flat bed scanner) and press "Scan" again. I then run Simple Scan, pressed the "Scan" button, heard a couple of mechanical noises and this first attempt was successful with a neat scan of a simple sheet.
Edited /etc/sane.d/nf to include this line: firmware /etc/sane.d/esfw41.binĤ. Copied esfw41.bin to /home/ my-username/esfw41.bin and also to /etc/sane.d/esfw41.binģ. sYdQa?dl=0, then followed the instructions.Ģ.
It's all rather confusing for the scanner seems to work now but only "from time to time". Thanks to the contributors for trying to help.
